Transforming his greatest fear into his passion!

***For all the folks who don’t know what Model UN is, visit my blog, you will find an introduction about it. http://www.masterinyourself.wordpress.com ***

Sometimes we regret on our fears after achieving gold due to it.  It is the greatest trend of mankind to possess weakness or a phobia of something or the other. Sometimes your destiny is against you. You are destined to follow that throughout your life.

We all are scared of something or other, aren’t we? We often hesitate to transact things which we are not versed with or in which we lack the skill. It is our inner conscience which rebels when such opportunities are, whilst or body is just like a puppet following the orders of our conscience. Well same was the story with Mr.Rishabh Shah (Currently the founder of IIMUN). I would like to dedicate this blog post to Rishabh Shah, one of the greatest person I have ever met.

This story dates back when the concept of Model United Nations was just being introduced in schools. It was a usual day. History lecture was going on. All the faces were bleached with signs of despairity. The protagonist was a backbencher, an ordinary kid, possessing stage fright. He was customarily dozing off during the lecture ignorant of the world. His nap overlooked the advent of the school principal. Whilst he was sleeping, the principal spelled a few words about Model UN.

The principal took his name and asked him to explain what Model UN is. Rather quiet timidly, he delivered a comic reply “A modeling competition?”. Undoubtedly this reply fumed the head mistress and she retorted, “You will be representing the school for the next Model UN”. Lady luck frowned on him. Finally life took its turn for him & that reply from his teacher turned all the tables.

The anxious fellow was going to represent a nation (Saudi Arabia) at the national level discussing the global issues. He had no bait, since his principal mandated his participation else he would be kicked out of the school.

He somehow managed to fly to Delhi for the most awaited event of his life. Upon entering the lavish gateway, he found out existence of 300 delegates. Well, for him it was like the entire global population has accumulated in that very room. This startling start unknotted the horrific conference. With ripe preparations, and a case history of stage fright, he hid under the desk. He found the entire committee little less amiable than he had expected. Another nightmare of his about being caught by someone came true. Picked up by a an over smart delegate, he weeped in front of the entire committee and ran outside in hunt of his teacher. His frail mind could not give room for such insults and he desired to depart for home.

The smart teacher immediately called the principal to bad mouth about him. The principal blazed with rage and placed a heavier burden on his shoulders of attaining the best delegate prize! The boy was sent to the committee again. It was no less than hell for him. He was asked to deliver his speech. Rather faint-hearted, he arrived spelled out a few broken words, which were ironically appreciated, by the committee. This sole moment left a footprint of confidence, will, hardwork and morale. It threw light on the fact that, it is futile to run away from your fears, because in future, your fears are the one that will follow you.

The protagonist in the story mentioned above is none other than Rishabh Shah. Okay, well let me tell you about him. He is currently the founder of one of the largest Model UN agency named Indian International Model United Nations. It holds yearly conference on 108 cities in India and several other worldwide. The big fact is that, he organised a Model UN session in the headquarters of The United Nations in New York. Today he aims to campaign for a permanent seat for India in the United Nations.

Rishabh Sir, if you are reading this then we are very glad to host such a powerful name of you on our blog. You are very humble, straight forward and an inspiring personality. You have filled the gap between politics (which is restricted to witty adults) to the basic education. Hatts off!

Well, I would like to know from the audience about its greatest fear and measures that you are taking to combat it.

Fuel & It’s Importance In Our Daily Life

The entire world leans towards “Fuel”, just a four letter word. It is today what the entire globe craves for. Today none can imagine life without fuel. So importance of fuel in our  daily life is increasing day by day.

Our planet is bounded with natural resources. The crust of our planet is enriched with a mixture of fuels, crude oil, natural gases and various other needful elements. All the realms of the planet are laden with these resources bur fuel is the only resource that is edged to the lithosphere. Earth provides us with solid liquid as well as gaseous fuels. Solid fuel is mainly available in the form of coal which is used in lumps. Crude oil upon distillation gives birth to an array of benevolent fuels like petrol diesel, kerosene. Crude oil accounts to the highest share in production of energy. Natural gases which are combustible hydrocarbons are also extensively used.

Along with the time, even the human population is advancing further. After the industrial revolution the demand for fuel kept on increasing, simultaneous to the steep increase in the human population. Today the human population has crossed the 7th billionth mark. All the roads are teeming with automobiles and the hinterlands are dotted with factories. All the mobility and the manufacturing process are carried out with the use of fuel. Thus in greed of progression the man is overlooking the judicious use fuel.

Nobody can deny the fact that the entire global economy leans upon the trade of fuel. Countries like UAE are not taxing its citizens due to surplus oil riches. Crude oil has become an icon of prosperity for the entire Middle East. The monopoly of oil is a source of livelihood for tons of people. Despite, it is currently one of the most prominent contributor of air and water pollution. Unlike the past, today fuel is not available in surplus quantities. Along with the depleting environment, the level of crude oil is also lowering down drastically. The appalling truth often heard is that within a few decades, the reserves of crude oil will get exhausted. It takes millions of years for crude oil to replenish. Science has always rescued us in terrible circumstances. Today we are fortunate to have a parallel group of resources which do not make crude oil the solitary source of energy.

Due to futuristic growth, the man has started utilising inexhaustible suns light. Solar powered products are being used. In India a broad promotion spree about solar power is being carried out. Government is collaborating with private firms to set up solar farms in order to minimise the usage of crude oil. Some people may complain about high investments in them; despite it has zero maintenance costs.

Second in the list comes hydel power. Hydel power assures sustainable use of water on Earth through various hydroelectric projects. Several multinational riverine projects are proposed.

Last but not the least, science has also paved the way for energy generation from wind. It is capable of poring the future with windmills. China has produced over 145000 MW of power using its windmills.

In this swift paced mechanised world, humans are regarded as the most intelligent creatures. Thus it is our responsibility to implement these alternative sources of energy. As far as automobile fuel is concerned, besides petroleum and diesel, compressed natural gas is a reliable option. It will not only help to combat air pollution but also help in shrinking the uptake of petroleum. Secondly hybrid cars which work on both batteries and natural gasses is another convincing option.

In this era of inflation and price fluctuations, it is quiet eloquent that petrol and diesel are also not safe for our pockets. The abrupt rise in taxation and prices evidently indicate that we will fall short of resources. Well on personal level we can implement carpooling and promote the usage of mass commutation. Cycles can be availed for travelling short distances.

On a much greater level, the man has devised solar powered supersonic jets and sustainable railways. This motive will surely help to combat fuel depletion. Today the world is in dire need of more such innovations.

It is pointless to list down such measures unless we gain the need to prioritise these. Neglecting to these measures will only lead to a hazardous and treacherous future. Undoubtedly if we give importance to natural fuel and practise  these measures to enable sustainable development , then it will surely overwhelm the natural cycle and will result into a successful future. Truly fuel is the elixir of life and very much important to run the wheels of our modern nation. Thus Fuel is a resource  and to make suitable  exploitation of these valuable resource, resource perception is essential.
